We believe that the best outcomes for children happen when school and home work in partnership. Parents and carers know their children best, and their views, experiences and knowledge are invaluable in helping us understand individual needs and provide the right support.
We are committed to:
- Listening to parent and carer views
- Involving families in decision-making
- Communicating openly and honestly
- Celebrating successes together
- Supporting families to understand their child's needs
- Signposting additional sources of support when required
We want every family to feel welcomed, valued and fully involved in their child's educational journey. We want parents and carers to feel confident in approaching us and knowing who to speak to. Our SEND team can be contacted through the school office, who will ensure your enquiry reaches the right person.
Throughout the year, we hold three One Plan meetings, providing opportunities for parents to discuss their child's progress, review the support in place and agree next steps together. We actively encourage parents to share their views and contribute to decisions about their child's provision. Following each meeting, parents will receive a copy of their child's One Plan so they have a clear record of agreed outcomes and support.
If you have a concern about your child's learning, development or wellbeing, we ask that you speak to their class teacher in the first instance. They can involve a member of the SEND team where additional advice or support is needed.
