At Jerounds, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to take part, contribute and feel a valued member of our school community. Inclusion does not stop at the classroom door. We want all children to experience the excitement, friendships and opportunities that school life brings, whatever their individual needs.

We work to remove barriers and make reasonable adjustments so that children with SEND can access enrichment activities, clubs, trips, performances, sporting opportunities and wider school experiences. We recognise that belonging, developing friendships, discovering new interests and building confidence are just as important as academic achievement.

Enrichment and wider opportunities

We want every child to enjoy the full range of opportunities that school life has to offer. We encourage and support children with SEND to take part in school trips, residential visits, clubs, sporting events, performances, celebrations and wider enrichment activities. Where needed, we make reasonable adjustments to ensure that all children can access these experiences, discover new interests and enjoy new challenges.

Developing friendships and relationships

Feeling that you belong and having positive friendships are an important part of school life. We provide opportunities for children to develop social skills, build relationships and enjoy spending time with others. We recognise that some children may need additional support to navigate friendships or social situations, and we work to create positive, supportive environments where everyone feels included, valued and able to connect with others.
